How it works

Pick Simple to describe the song in a sentence, or Custom to set a title, a style, your own lyrics and the vocalist. Switch on Instrumental for a track with no vocals. Suno decides the length: each track is usually 1–4 minutes.

Songs are generated with Suno V6. A generation usually takes about a minute, and every generation returns two different tracks so you can pick the one you like. You can leave the page while it works; finished tracks stay in your account.

Describe a style (genre, era, instruments, mood) rather than naming an artist: requests that name an artist are not accepted, and generated music may not be used to impersonate anyone.

Questions about AI music

How much does a song cost?

One generation costs 7 credits and returns two tracks. The price is shown next to the Generate button before you press it. If a generation fails, the credits are returned automatically.

Do I need an account?

You can fill in the form without one, but you need to sign in to generate. New accounts get free credits when they sign in.

What format are the downloads?

Each track downloads as an MP3. You can also play it on the page before downloading.

Can I use the music commercially or in the style of a real artist?

Generated music may not be used to impersonate an artist or be passed off as their work, and requests that name an artist are refused. Responsibility for how you use a track, including copyright clearance, rests with you; see the Terms.

How long does it take, and where do my tracks go?

Usually about a minute; in our tests both tracks were ready in 40–60 seconds. Tracks stay in your account and are listed on this page when you come back. If a generation is still running after about ten minutes, this page stops checking and tells you to look again later.

What can go wrong?

A request can be refused by our content check, and a generation can fail on the provider side. In both cases you are not charged, or the credits are returned. You can run up to three generations at once.
