Higgsfield alternative for product ads: recast a reference clip with your product, pay per clip

Higgsfield Genjutsu is the better tool for recasting real people. CastTake Motion Transfer is for putting your own product in the shot: 1080p, priced per clip with no monthly plan, and a free 3-second motion preview to try first.

Where Higgsfield Genjutsu is the better tool

If you are shopping for a Higgsfield alternative to recast real people, start here, because this is where we would not switch. We ran the same 8 second multi-cut fashion reel through both on 28 September 2026. Genjutsu kept every cut and recast the model consistently from shot to shot. Ours did not: it is built for a continuous shot, and a reel that cuts between angles is where it falls down. If your job is recasting a real person across an edited reel, Genjutsu was clearly the better result and we would use it.

The second gap is faces. CastTake cannot use a reference photo that contains a real face, because the video model we render with refuses it. You describe the hero in text, or use a faceless or back-view photo. If the hero has to be a specific real person, that is a reason to choose Higgsfield.

One test, one clip, on one day. It is evidence about that reel, not a benchmark.

Where a Higgsfield alternative like CastTake fits

CastTake is a tool for product ads, and Motion Transfer is the part of it that borrows a reference clip's movement. As a Higgsfield alternative, what it is good at is different from Genjutsu's strength:

  • Your product in the shot. Add a product photo, and optionally a 2-second opening hook where the hero drinks it, unboxes it or holds it up.
  • No monthly plan. One clip is one payment. A month with no clips costs nothing.
  • 1080p per clip. An 8 second clip at 1080p is $6.99, once.
  • A free look first. Every account gets one free 3-second motion preview before paying.

When to choose which

A Higgsfield alternative is worth switching to for some jobs and not others. Match your job to a row.

What each costs, with the arithmetic

The cost side of any Higgsfield alternative comes down to plan versus clip. Higgsfield sells credits inside monthly plans (checked 28 September 2026), and Genjutsu spends them per second of reference video. CastTake sells the clip.

Higgsfield planPriceCreditsGenjutsu
Starter$19 a month270 creditsNo free Genjutsu generations
Plus$59 a month ($47 a month billed annually)1,200 credits3 free 720p Genjutsu generations
Ultra$129 a month ($99 a month billed annually)3,000 credits3 free 720p generations

Take an 8 second reference clip. Genjutsu charges per second of it, so the credit cost is the rate times 8. To put dollars on it we use one stated assumption: Starter's $19 for 270 credits, about $0.0704 a credit. Plus and Ultra give cheaper credits, so read these as the Starter case.

8 second clipWorkingCost
Genjutsu 480p8 × 3 = 24 creditsabout $1.69
Genjutsu 720p8 × 7 = 56 creditsabout $3.94
Genjutsu 1080p promo8 × 11 = 88 creditsabout $6.19
Genjutsu 1080p list8 × 16 = 128 creditsabout $9.01
CastTake 720pone-off, up to 8 seconds$4.99
CastTake 1080pone-off, up to 8 seconds$6.99

Read plainly: at the promotional 1080p rate, credits you already hold make a Genjutsu clip (88 credits, about $6.19) slightly cheaper than ours ($6.99). At the list rate (128 credits, about $9.01) it is dearer. At 720p Genjutsu is 56 credits, about $3.94 against $4.99 here. The difference that matters is the plan: Starter is $19 a month, and 270 credits cover about 3 promo-rate 1080p clips of this length. One clip in a month is $6.99 here against $19; two is $13.98; three is $20.97, which is more than the plan. Those Higgsfield credits also work in its other tools, which is worth something if you use them.

Genjutsu rates used: 3 credits a second at 480p, 7 at 720p, 11 at 1080p promo and 16 at 1080p list. Our prices are read from the same table checkout uses; see pricing.

How CastTake Motion Transfer works

  1. Upload a reference clip (MP4, MOV or WebM, up to 50 MB, 4 to 15 seconds of it recast).
  2. Describe the hero and give your own hero and, if you want it, a product photo. No real faces in the photos.
  3. Get the free 3-second motion preview, about 3 minutes.
  4. Pay for the clip. Preparation is about 2 minutes, the render usually 5 to 8. A failed render is refunded.

Under the hood the reference video becomes a depth-based grey-box motion map, a scene plate is built around your hero and product, and the Seedance model renders from those. The longer write-up, with the limits, is on the AI motion transfer page. If you would rather start from a product photo, the AI product video generator needs no reference clip at all.

Samples: what went in, what came out

Clips already made on CastTake, not new renders for this page. We do not show Higgsfield output here because we have no right to republish it; this Higgsfield alternative comparison rests on our own test.

Street dance, recast (vertical)In: A short dance clip of a real person on a city street, used as the motion reference.Out: The same moves and camera with a different, AI-generated person in a rain-lit neon street. The clip wipes from the original to the recast; the recast carries the CastTake AI watermark. No product in this one: it shows the motion carrying over.
Street dance, recast (widescreen)In: The same reference clip, framed 16:9.Out: The same recast in a widescreen frame, to show the aspect ratio follows the source rather than being forced to vertical.Same demo as above, wide crop.

Questions before you switch from Higgsfield

Is CastTake a Higgsfield alternative for everything?

No. It is an alternative for one job: recasting a reference clip with your own product in the frame, paid per clip. For recasting real people, and for reference videos with several cuts, Higgsfield Genjutsu was clearly better in our own test on 28 September 2026, and we say so rather than pretend otherwise.

How much does Higgsfield Genjutsu cost?

Genjutsu bills per second of reference video: 3 credits a second at 480p, 7 at 720p and 11 at 1080p at the promotional rate (16 at list). Credits come from a plan: Starter is $19 a month for 270 credits, Plus is $59 a month ($47 billed annually) for 1,200 and includes 3 free 720p Genjutsu generations, and Ultra is $129 a month ($99 annually) for 3,000. Checked 28 September 2026; confirm on higgsfield.ai before you buy.

How much does CastTake Motion Transfer cost?

One-off per clip, no subscription. At 1080p: $6.99 up to 8 seconds, $8.99 up to 12 and $10.99 up to 15. At 720p: $4.99, $5.99 and $6.99. Every account gets one free 3-second motion preview.

Is Genjutsu cheaper than CastTake for one clip?

On credits alone, sometimes. An 8 second 1080p Genjutsu clip is 88 credits at the promotional rate, about $6.19 at Starter’s per-credit price, against $6.99 here. But you need the $19 plan first, and at list rate the same clip is 128 credits, about $9.01. The honest answer depends on how many clips you make in a month; the arithmetic is above.

Which one is better for putting my product in a video?

CastTake is built around that case: you supply a product photo and can add an opening hook where the hero uses it. Genjutsu is stronger at recasting the people in a clip. If the product is the point of the ad, start with a single continuous reference shot here.

Can I use a photo of a real person in CastTake?

No. The video model refuses reference photos that contain a real face. Describe the hero in text or use a faceless or back-view photo. If you need a specific real person recast, use Higgsfield.

Do I need a subscription for CastTake?

No. You pay for the clip you render. Members who hold credits can pay from their balance instead, but nothing renews automatically for a single Motion Transfer purchase.
